Russian astronomers have recorded a powerful solar flare of class M, which occurred in the morning on Monday, 29 January. This is reported on the website of the Heliogeophysical Service of the Institute of Applied Geophysics.
“On 29 January at 07:38 MSK in the group of spots 3559 (N28W86) in the X-ray range registered flare M6.8 with a duration of 61 minutes. From the flare registered intrusion into near-Earth space proton fluxes in a wide range of energies,” – stated in the message. It is noted that the space phenomenon caused a violation of shortwave radio communication.
This flare was the second overnight. Earlier on 29 January at 04:40 Moscow time astronomers recorded X-ray activity in the same group of spots, which lasted 28 minutes and reached the class M1.3.
