A pensioner walking near a lake in a retirement community was eaten by an alligator

An elderly woman living in a retirement community in the United States was eaten by an alligator. This is reported by CBS News.

85-year-old Gloria Serge was walking with her dog near the lake near the house in the community for the elderly Spanish Lakes Fairways, in the state of Florida. Suddenly, a large alligator crawled out of the water and lunged at the senior citizen and her dog. The reptile managed to grab the American woman’s leg and drag her underwater. A woman living nearby noticed this and called the emergency services. The incident was also caught on CCTV cameras.

The woman could not be saved and her remains were later recovered from the lake. Wildlife conservationists captured the three-metre crocodile and sedated it. In January, the woman’s son William Serge filed a lawsuit against the housing company that owns the Spanish Lakes Fairways community and maintains the buildings. Serge is seeking $50,000 in damages from Wynne Building Corporation.
