Toxic chemicals have been found in ski resorts

Although a number of international skiing organisations have banned the use of ski lubricants containing PFASs, this ban has only recently begun to take effect in international competitions as it has taken time to develop suitable testing methods.

PFAS is a group of more than 12,000 synthetic chemicals that began to be used in the 1940s and is widely used in household items ranging from frying pans to waterproof jackets.
