A non-obvious early symptom of dementia has been identified

Falls down stairs and impaired co-ordination of movement are early symptoms of dementia. These non-obvious signs of the disease were reported by the British dementia charity organisation Alzheimer Scotland, writes the Daily Express.

The organisation noted that dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are most commonly associated with memory loss, mental impairment and speech problems, but symptoms can vary depending on which part of the brain is affected. One of the lesser-known manifestations of the disease, experts said, is difficulty with mobility.

“A person with dementia may slip, trip, fall more often. You may notice that he or she shuffles when walking and does not lift his or her feet,” Alzheimer Scotland pointed out.
